Baisch & Skinner’s story begins in 1952… It was then, after years of working for other wholesale florists on the St. Louis Flower Market, that Art Baisch and Roy Skinner decided to form a new wholesale florist of their own.
In the beginning, the company mainly consigned fresh flowers for local growers. Early on, Art and Roy gained a reputation for offering the finest quality flowers available. That reputation remains today.
Located on the historic St. Louis Flower Market the company started out as a single, 3,700 square-foot storefront with a small cooler and a handful of employees.
Still in its original location, the company has grown from that single storefront to a 160,000 square-foot complex of buildings on the Flower Market. It includes modern greenhouses, multiple cut flower coolers and a 25,000 sq foot showroom for its selections of permanent botanical flowers, decorative and home decor accessories. Additionally in 2007, Baisch and Skinner acquired Stuppy Floral Products adding 4 locations to better serve the Midwest.
Now in its third generation, Baisch and Skinner continues to stay active in organizations including SAF, AA Importing, and IFD. They were proud to host production of the IFD Flower Trend Forecast for the last 3 years. In 2017, Baisch and Skinner implemented a new innovative ERP system to increase efficiency, streamline processes, study trends, and inventory control management.
