Ball SB Introduces Limonium Sinzii
Sinzii is a result of crossing two Limonium species to combine the virtues of both varieties. It has sharp, solid colors and large, homogenous panicles like Statice; but unlike conventional Statice, Sinzii has proven to be less susceptible to virus and diseases.
Propagated from tissue culture from elite plant material, Sinzii is hardy and productive, with high-quality, strong stems. Joining the current range of Limonium colors (Silver, Deep Blue andvDeep Lavender), Ball added two new colors to the line with Sinzii: Lilac and White.
To ensure the highest quality standards, Ball is constantly upgrading their material and evaluating each clone before releasing it to the market. The Sinzii hybrids were developed by Ball’s New Zealand partners, through embryo rescue performed by the most experienced breeding and scientific team available for that crop in the world. Evaluations were performed in Colombia, Ecuador, and Kenya before this variety was released.
Ball develops their plants with sustainability in mind, so they can be grown in many regions and with less water and agrochemicals. Additionally, the plant material can last three years; this sustained productivity helps reduce its carbon footprint.
