How to Increase your sales with Father’s Day Flowers
Here we are: It’s already May, and June isn’t far behind. What would typically be the time for weddings, graduations, and other celebrations is now the time for staying home.
This pandemic has created a tough time for florists everywhere. We know that you’ve lost a lot of revenue. There’s nothing we want more than florists worldwide returning to business and spreading the joy of flowers!
That’s why we all have to be creative on ways to increase sales during holidays such as Father’s Day. Sending flowers to a man was a new idea a few years ago, but now it’s become more popular. Particularly in these times, what Dad wouldn’t want to receive a gift of flowers to brighten his day?
Roses are the official flower of Father’s Day; people the world over wear roses to celebrate their Dads. But you can use any bloom in your arrangements; the message of love is the most important thing.
Since Father’s Day is just around the corner, we wanted to provide some ideas you can use to increase your sales. While some states are already opening, many are not, so these ideas can work for all florists.
If you’re not able to open yet, send “virtual” flowers.
When your customer purchases a “virtual” arrangement from your website, send an email to the recipient with a photo of the flowers and your customer’s message. When you reopen your store, you’ll deliver the actual arrangement at no extra charge. It’s a great way to send twice the love!
Create a Father’s Day email campaign.
Create more Father’s Day sales through a targeted email marketing campaign. Work out your promotion, then create a series of emails to send to your list. The more you promote, the more likely they are to see that promotion and purchase their flowers from you.
Add urgency to Father’s Day discounts and sales.
Create limited-time sales that end close to Father’s Day. Offer better discounts if customers purchase early. Feature these offers on your email campaign, as customers will respond to the added incentives to “buy now.”
Tell a story in your promotions.
Who doesn’t want to hear a great story? It’s how we connect and create relationships. So tell stories in your promotion about special Dads in your life. Those stories will create an emotional bond with your customers and deepen your relationships for the long-term.
Send a Father’s Day gift guide.
One of your emails should ideally be a Father’s Day gift guide, with ideas for different types of arrangements based on Dad’s interests. Be creative with your arrangements and show them with full-color images. Be sure to include photos of dads with their families. Offer a Father’s Day coupon, and you’ll seal the deal!
Create in-store promotions if your shop is open.
If you’re fortunate enough to be able to open your shop, find ways to promote to people to come in. Send “treat yourself” invitations to Dads so they can go in and choose their arrangement. Create window clings with your Father’s Day specials to grab impulse shoppers. Do whatever it takes to bring customers in—at a socially acceptable distance, of course!
Your customers WANT to support you. Nobody in your community wants to see local businesses suffer because of this pandemic. So, give them plenty of opportunities to buy from you this Father’s Day. They’ll love to support you and provide a beautiful gift to Dad at the same time.
