Rio Ginger

The Ginger plant is characterized by its showy, ostrich-like plumes. Its red and pink bracts are often mistaken for the bloom; however, the actual flower of the plant is the inconspicuous white flower on top. Some species of Ginger are grown for culinary and medicinal purposes, while others are purely ornamental. This exotic perennial, with its unique shape and lovely hues, is increasingly being used for special occasions and weddings.

Care and Handling

For longer and healthier vase life, store at 50-60° F and 95% relative humidity. Storing flowers in the same location is preferred, as they may be damaged due to changes in temperature. Trim 1 inch off the bottom of each stem, and place them in a vase of fresh, clean water to hydrate them.
Mist with fresh water once or twice daily.
