Karthauser & Sons was born in the fall of 1957, when Otto, Jerry, and Neal Karthauser had an opportunity to purchase the Robert Possale Greenhouse in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. The business thrived in those early years due to their consistent hard work and dedication. Now, more than 50 years later, Karthauser & Sons has become a well-respected and vital part of southeastern Wisconsin’s growing floral industry.
In 1985, the company began construction on a new location in Germantown, Wisconsin. They set up shop in that 180,000 square foot facility two years later, where they continue to operate today. And it wasn’t just the building that expanded: In 2004, Karthauser & Sons diversified their product line by developing a cut flower and growing products operation. This diversification reinvigorated their business.
Of course, every longstanding business will experience change; with Otto’s passing and Jerry’s retirement, Neal and his son Brian, along with their General Manager Gregg Wilke, are running the company. These three men have an impressive 100 years of experience in the commercial flower industry between them.
The key to the continual growth of Karthauser & Sons for the past five decades comes down to one thing: A loyal customer base. And that loyalty is due in no small part to the dedicated Karthauser employees. They genuinely care about their products and their customers and are what makes Karthauser & Sons so special.
Because of the commitment of such dedicated and talented staff, Karthauser & Sons has a positive outlook for a bright future. With their customers, suppliers, and employees’ support, they will continue to provide the quality products and services they have developed for decades.
