Established in 1927 by J. Weatherford Sr., Southern Floral Company continues today as a proud, family-owned and operated TEXAS business.
The company runs branches in Houston, Austin, and Corpus Christi. As one of the oldest and largest floral wholesale distributors in the Southwestern United States, Southern Floral Company provides the finest in cut flowers imported from around the world, as well as a full line of floral and decorating supplies.
Southern Floral Company has affiliations with many floral associations: Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA & GOTEPP), Allied Florists of Houston (AFH), International Floral Distributors (IFD), Wholesale Florist & Florist Supplier Association (WFFSA), Society of American Florists (SAF), and Texas State Florists’ Association (TSFA).
Company president, Robert H. Weatherford Jr., has served on the boards of WFFSA and SAFD. He has also worked with the American and Texas Floral Endowments.
Vice president, Susan B. Weatherford, has served on the board and participated in numerous committees for both AFH and TSFA. She recently served two terms as President of TSFA (2015-2017).
The Southern Exposure, a division of Southern Floral Company, is one of the largest manufacturers of fresh flower bouquets in Texas. It offers a wide variety of bouquets, arrangements, and other seasonal products. While Southern Exposure’s central office is in Houston, it utilizes all branch locations as distribution centers for its product.
