As a Gold Level Texas Floral Education Underwriter for the Texas State Flower Association, Rio Roses has been committed to helping provide continuous education to designers and business owners in Texas for the past four years. As part of that commitment, a team from Rio Roses attended the Texas Floral Forum, held from July 13-15 at the South Shore Harbor Resort and Conference Center in League City, Texas.
The event featured a keynote presentation by celebrity wedding planner David Tutera, and attendees were able to spend time with him throughout the Forum. Additionally, Jenny Thomasson, Design Director and Principal of the award-winning Stems Florist, gave a Modern Works lecture and demonstration on the opening day. Rio Roses donated all the product for David Tutera’s presentation, as well as the product for the other designers at the Forum to use in their presentations.
Hands-on design experiences were another highlight of the event: Trending Socially with HGTV designer Christopher White and Old-World Florals for Today with well-known floral designer Kiana Underwood gave participants the opportunity to learn more about the most current design trends and how to incorporate them into their floral business.
The Forum also provided a glimpse into the FTD World Cup 2019 at a luncheon hosted by Pete Samek, Assistant Design Director at FTD. All in all, it was a jam-packed three days of education and creativity!
Rio Roses, as a Gold Level Sponsor, participated in the Forum with a booth showcasing many of our most popular varieties, as well as a stunning greenery wall that served as a perfect backdrop for photos. It was, as always, a pleasure for us to be a part of any event supporting the Texas State Flower Association and its wonderful education programs.
