NIRP International is proud to introduce their Red Flame® Cut Rose.
Red Flame® is a tea hybrid selected exclusively for production in Latin America. This variety originated from a crossing made in 2011, then was evaluated throughout its different stages and finally chosen in 2016. In 2018, NIRP decided to introduce Red Flame® to the market, and after hundreds of hours of experimentation in Colombia and Ecuador, it is now available!
The New Red Variety by NIRP International is Red Flame®
After several years of work, thousands of crosses made, hundreds of codes removed, and dozens of evaluations, Red Flame®, the new variety of red rose from NIRP INTERNATIONAL, has arrived on the market.
After a rigorous evaluation and selection process, NIRP determines the varieties that present the best agronomic and market characteristics. In doing this, NIRP ensures that growers receive a product that will produce excellent long-term results. The process involves many tasks that can take several years.
Red Flame® has performed exceptionally well, cultivated between 2,600 and 2,800 meters above sea level. The variety’s main benefits are its plant structure, length of stems between 60/70 cm, button size of 6 cm on average, and its velvety red color. Additionally, thanks to its structure and excellent budding, this variety produces more than 100 flowers per square meter.
Throughout the evaluations, Red Flame® was observed to have very few thorns. Additionally, the velvety red color was obtained without using any mesh or “anti-blackening” bag, saving a great deal of labor.
Red Flame® was commercially launched in Ecuador in 2018 and Colombia the following year at the Proflora fair. Since that launch, several companies initially planted the variety as a test. After analyzing the field results, plus the pinch tests, cold room rotation, travel, and vase life, they decided to plant more. Additionally, many new customers have seeded and will soon be offering Red Flame®.
NIRP International is proud to present its Red Flame® rose variety. This gorgeous flower is sure to become a new favorite of florists across the country.
